VSA Arts Inclusion Awards

Hey Kentucky teachers (in both public and private schools)! Did you know that you can receive a $1250.00 grant to do a hands-on, inclusionary arts project that interfaces with your curriculum and KCAS? I am on the roster for VSA Kentucky as a teaching artist and I would love to come to your classroom to do a visual arts project with you and your students. Check it out:

Art for Preservation Month

I have four new pieces on display at Peace of the Earth gift store located at 801 E. Market Street that are being showcased as part of Preservation Louisville‘s Progressive Preservation Art Show:

Citizens in Louisville will join thousands of individuals across the country to celebrate National Preservation Month this May. See, Save, Celebrate is the theme of the month-long celebration sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  This year Preservation Louisville is highlighting the NuLu neighborhood and the smart growth that has occurred along with the many preservation success stories in the district.  Many Stores, Restaurants and Galleries are participating in the month long celebration by giving special discounts to Preservation Louisville  members throughout the month.  Many galleries, businesses and artists are also participating in our month long Progressive Preservation Art Show, which will focus on preservation related art, and highlight the artistic history of the NuLu neighborhood.

LVAA Comic Book camp for middle school students

Do you know of any middle school aged kids in the Louisville area who like to draw comics and want to have the time, instruction, materials, and resources needed in order to bring their vision to life by creating their own comic book? If so, send them my way for an art camp I’m teaching through the LVAA!
June 17– 22 Middle 6 – 8 grade
